Business Development Representative (BDR)

Reports To: VP of Sales

Location: Remote

Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

Compensation: $55,000 to $80,000

Summary

We are a growing software-as-a-service (SAAS) company in the healthcare industry looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Sales Team!

As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and qualifying potential leads to build a strong pipeline for our sales team. You will engage with decision-makers at target companies, spark interest in our SaaS solutions, and set up meetings for the sales team to close deals. This role is perfect for a highly driven individual looking to grow within a dynamic, results-oriented environment. This role is crucial for building the top of the sales funnel and driving revenue growth for the company.

A strong communicator with the ability to build relationships quickly, you’re comfortable making cold calls, handling objections, and creatively finding ways to connect with decision-makers. You are organized, tech-savvy, and eager to learn, with a growth mindset and a passion for helping businesses succeed through technology.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Research and identify potential customers through outbound outreach (cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Qualifying Leads: Engage with prospects to understand their pain points, business needs, and potential fit for our solution.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule meetings and demos for the sales team with qualified leads.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, prospect interactions, and progress in our CRM system.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and sales teams to refine outreach strategies and improve lead conversion.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and our SaaS offerings to effectively communicate value propositions.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in SaaS.
  • Experience with HubSpot is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with prospects and team members.
  • Excellent listening and discovery skills to understand prospect needs and qualify leads effectively.
  • Self-motivated and driven with a proactive approach to meeting goals and targets.
  • Ability to handle rejection and overcome objections in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Proficiency in using sales automation tools and CRM systems for tracking and managing leads.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and outbound outreach strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred, but not required if relevant experience is present.
